Pubescent Skin Problems at 24

Every month I’m plagued with an increase in hormones that like to debut themselves to the world in the form of pimples. I’ve been struggling with breakout prone skin since middle school and just when I thought I had it under control – boom 💥- another change in hormones, which I’ll talk about much later.

For the past few years I’ve been using Lush Handmade Cosmetics to tackle my oily skin. The clay cleansers provide a deep but gentle scrub, the toner supplies nutrients, and the moisturizer replenishes and balances my skin.

But like I said some things have changed and these pimples are getting quite disrespectful.

So I’ve decided to add something new to my regimen.

[ One thing you should know is that when you find your skin care routine no longer working, the rule is to remove one product or add one product. Switching up your entire face care routine could be quite dramatic for your skin. And also to pinpoint what products work and do not work you need to be patient because it takes 28 days for skin cells to renew. So whatever you’re using you want to give it enough time to show you some results. ]

In middle school I used to wash my face with straight rubbing alcohol because it would dry out every blemish on my face. And I loved it! But now that I’m older (and wiser) I know one should not apply rubbing alcohol to their face. So I searched for something similar instead; a product that would cleans, diminish pimples, but also add nutrients to my skin instead of drying me out. And I discovered Pacifica water based cleansers. I chose the Kale Water cleanser because it’s meant for breakout prone skin, which I definitely have.

As I mentioned previously, I am adding the Kale Water to my regimen. I will continue to wash my face daily with Herbalism, tone up with Tea Tree Water, and moisturize with Vanishing Cream (all Lush’s products).

Below you’ll see my current breakout and in about a month I’ll show you updates of my skin. Hopefully I’ll have success.

I’m no skin care expert, so wish me luck!
